I've been with the malamutes since 1999. It has all started because of wolves, animals that I've been admiring all my life. When I saw the first mal I knew this is a friend I've been looking for - gentle, beautiful, magnificent! Just like wolves...
In 2001 I owned one malamute girl, then Deewahno joined the pack in 2003. I began to show her and I loved it! The excitement, meeting friends... and my dogs enjoy it just as much.

When I graduated Agriculture University with a Master Degree in Animal Husbandry I decided that breeding dogs is what I love and can do my best:) I registered my kennel name first in FCI and had one litter from Deewahno. I moved to UK in 2005 and got my kennel name : "MoniKoona" registered with The Kennel Club UK. Now I'm a very happy owner of 7 mals (2 of which are in co-ownership).

When making a decision about breeding I look for a perfect match in body and mind (temperaments!). Both parents have to be health checked- hips scoring and eye testing is a must.

Having owned German Wire Haired Pointers since 1983, I now have my 3rd German Wire Haired Pointer. All my dogs have attended ringcraft & gundog training classes.

I have been involved with Headley Ringcraft for many years and have been on the committee for around 5 years.

German Wire Haired Pointers are great fun and such characters – a well trained German Wire Haired Pointer is truly a man’s best friend.

I started training my dogs in 1964 when I took my Shih Tzu to dog training classes at Surrey Dog Training Club. She became quite good for her breed (not noted for doing obedience) and I competed with her and her daughter in KC obedience completions. I also became, during this time, one of the founder members of Haslemere and District Dog Training Club.

Since then I have had two non-show Yorkshire Terriers and 4 Lancashire Heelers. They have all be trained in obedience and competed in agility. 1 Yorkshire terrier and 2 Lancashire Heelers have qualified in Working Trials and they have all been awarded various KC Good Citizen Awards.

I started showing my first Lancashire Heeler in 1986 and I then started to go to ringcraft classes. I chose to have Lancashire Heelers because of their lively temperament and short coat. I have done fairly well in the show ring and enjoy showing. My best was a RCC.

I teach agility and belong to the committee of Billingshurst Dog Training Club; I am also on the committee of the Lancashire Heeler Club and I organise their stand at Discover Dogs.

I became secretary of Headley Ringcraft Association when the former secretary Lynne Lane moved to Devon. I like attending Headley because it is a very friendly club and I find it interesting to learn about the different breeds of dog.

Kelphope Border Terriers started with our first border bitch "Lucy" born in 1987.Lucy started us showing borders with the help of her breeder (Cedarcourt).

Our first litter from Lucy resulted in us keeping a bitch called "Meg" who is still with us. Meg did very well at shows and had 2 litters.

We now also have a 6 year old bitch "Amy" and a young bitch "Jess" which we are showing at present.

I have been a member of Headley Rincraft Association for approximately 14 years and used to show Golden Retrievers and Italian Spinone.

I have had Cavalier King Charles Spaniels as pets and have judged exemption dog shows and fun dog shows.

I like taking ringcraft classes because I like all aspects of dog showing.

The Singlewell affix was registered at the Kennel Club in 1947. My mother and I had a smallholding with various farm animals and several different breeds of dog. The affix was first used to register a pedigree Jersey Cow (Singlewell Honeysuckle), followed by a Bulldog, a Wire Haired Fox Terrier and several Sealyhams. However Pekingese had always been my mother’s favourite breed so it was decided to build up a strong line base on Caversham and Alderbourne Kennels, the two main winning kennels of the day. The latter, the Misses Ashton Cross whose mother had started at the turn of the last century when Pekingese first came into Britain after the Chinese Boxer revolution. During the 1950’s and 60’s Miss Mary de Pledge bred some super sound and glamorous dogs under the Caversham affix. I line bred Caversham stock to the famous Alderbourne Champion stud dogs and although mostly out-crossed I kept the best of the litters until I got a really reliable bitch line.
My mother and I gave up our smallholding in 1956 and I married Bill Edmond in 1958, he was an RAF fighter pilot at the time and on retiring from the RAF he joined the Kennel Club in 1971.
The late sixties and early seventies was the time I started showing more regularly and my first Champion Singlewell Sun Chu was made up in 1966. He gained his first two Challenge Certificates very quickly but had quite a long wait to his third by which time I was getting despondent so as Bill had quite a good rapport with the dog he took him to the Bath Championship Show in 1966 and won his qualifying Certificate under Mrs Warner Hill. They say one never forgets the first Champion and this is very true even with the passing years and 13 more Champions.
I judged my first Championship show in 1966 and Crufts in 1977.
Very few people went to the training classes in these early days as there were Matches, Evening Sanction Shows and Limited Shows where one could train ones dog before entering a Championship Show.
Today it is impossible to do without a Training Club and I am very grateful to the Headley Ringcraft Association and I am very pleased to be a member.

My husband Keith and I became members of the Headley Ringcraft Association 2 years ago together with our two Blue Roan Cocker Spaniels Holly and Hector.

Although we had both owned dogs in the past this was our first introduction to Showing. We have found showing to be a fun family hobby that we and the children can get involved in from grooming to the ring and as our experience grows the more confident we become in all aspects of the field.

Although we have not been fortunate enough to qualify for Crufts we have done well at both exemption and open shows having fun along the way.
